George Billis is this year’s juror. Fairfield County is fortunate to have his newest gallery right here in Westport, CT. Currently, the George Billis Gallery is an exhibition space with locations in Westport and Los Angeles. His New York gallery was established in 1997 and was the twelfth gallery to open in the Chelsea Arts District. In 2004, George Billis opened a second location in the burgeoning art district of Culver City, Los Angeles. His Galleries feature work by both national and international emerging and established artists. Due to COVID, in 2020, George relocated the New York gallery to the busy Main Street of Westport, CT. “This show is our premier exhibition every September. Now in its 44th year, it’s our longest-running tradition at the Guild,” explains Pam Stoddart. “Artists from around the northeast enter every year.” More than 300 pieces of artwork were submitted to be viewed and juried by George Billis this year. In the end, he selected 70 pieces to be part of the exhibition, including wall art in a variety of media and sculpture. Though he juried the pieces online, George visited the Guild to see the works in the gallery space, and award the prizes. All artwork is for sale.
