An All-Star Band Celebrates the Music of David Gilmour and Pink Floyd at The Ridgefield Playhouse on January 19

It’s an all-star band performing the music of David Gilmour’s Pink Floyd at The Ridgefield Playhouse on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at 7:30pm.  The Gilmour Project, part of the Pepsi Rock Series Driven by North American Motor Car, celebrates the 50th Anniversary of ‘Dark Side of the Moon,’ which Pink Floyd first performed in January 1972 at The Brighton Dome, UK.

The band, featuring acclaimed musicians: Jeff Pevar (guitar with CSN, David Crosby, Phil Lesh, Ray Charles); Prairie Prince (co-founder of The Tubes, & drums with Todd Rundgren, Jefferson Starship, Phil Lesh); Kasim Sulton (bass with Todd Rundgren’s Utopia, Meatloaf & Blue Oyster Cult; toured with Cheap Trick, Hall & Oates, Patty Smyth); Mark Karan (guitar with Bob Weir/Ratdog, The Other Ones, Phil Lesh) and Scott Guberman (keyboards with Phil Lesh) will perform and explore Dark Side Of The Moon, in its entirety, honoring the legendary band.

With their focus on David Gilmour’s Pink Floyd repertoire, The Gilmour Project will do a deep dive into the exploration & improvisation that only Gilmour could create.  Fans will hear not only the heavy psychedelic lift of audacious and beloved ‘Gilmour-centric’ Pink Floyd songs but also rarities from David’s solo catalog. This rendition certainly does not dismiss the iconic contributions of all five historic musicians that comprise the Pink Floyd complement, only to bring light to philosophical lyrics, sonic experimentation, innovative art, and of course, elaborate live shows.  Two sets will be performed; one comprising ‘DSOM’ in its entirety and one with select songs and extended jams.  Enjoy a great night out with dinner and a show – visit The Hideaway (30 Grove Street, Ridgefield) for dinner before the show and enjoy a complimentary draft beer or glass of wine with your entrée when you show your ticket. Pink Floyd is a perennially featured artist of media sponsor 99.1fm WPLR.

Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon has sold more than 15 million copies in the U.S. since its release in 1973, with more than 45 million units selling worldwide. A classic rock staple, the album catapulted the band — bassist/vocalist Roger Waters, guitarist/vocalist David Gilmour, keyboardist/vocalist Rick Wright, and drummer Nick Mason — into icon status after spending 937 weeks Billboard 200.  Dark Side of the Moon, recorded at London’s Abbey Road Studios, with engineer Alan Parsons, was the first Pink Floyd album to break into the US Top 40.
