Close To Home And Heart showcases work of Cindy Wagner and RPAC resident artists

Close To Home And Heart at RPAC Gallery March 17 to May 15

Opening Reception: Thursday, March 17, 2022, 6–9 p.m.

RPAC Gallery, located at 410 Main Street Ridgefield, is proud to present Close to Home and Heart, an exhibition showcasing the work of Cindy Wagner and RPAC Resident Artists.

As an artist whose first love was representational artwork, Cindy Wagner mainly works today in portraiture and still life. Even when drawn to abstraction, she places realism within the abstract by taking inspiration from designs found in natural life. The through line of Cindy Wagner's paintings is an emotional or personal connection to the subject matter she depicts. Whether it is a personally meaningful item featuring in a still life or a local landscape adorning her canvases, the subject is always close to her home and heart. This theme can be most recently seen in her paintings of dancers and dance paraphernalia as well as her artistic explorations of the joys of motherhood.

Cindy Wagner is a Connecticut-based artist greatly influenced by her unique childhood. As a young girl whose father owned a filming studio and set-production company, Cindy Wagner was surrounded by creative minds from a young age. It was there that, working alongside her father while constructing sets, her passion for painting emerged.

Cindy Wagner's work has since been displayed in numerous venues throughout New York and Connecticut.
