Ridgefield Playhouse Announces Five New Shows and a Comedy Class that Leaves You Rolling in the Aisles

The Ridgefield Playhouse, a thriving non-profit performing arts center, has just revealed four brand new music concerts as well as a six week comedy workshop for students looking to tap into their inner comedian.  Member pre-sale happening now….tickets on sale to the public this Friday, April 22 at 10am!

Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, Dave Mason, best known for his classic rock hits such as “We Just Disagree,” and “Feeling Alright,” and his contributions to legacy bands, Traffic and Fleetwood Mac returns to the Ridgefield Playhouse on Friday, July 1, 2022 at 8:00pm.

Grammy nominated “Eli Young Band” is making their debut at Ridgefield Playhouse on Thursday, August 18, 2022 at 8:00pm after rising to the top of the country scene with their hit “Crazy Girl,” a spot on tour with Kenny Chesney, and an Academy of Country Music Award for Song of the Year.

With ties to Woodstock owning a true Americana vibe, “The Weight Band” will be sharing some new songs from their new album Shines Like Gold as well as fan favorites such as, “Up On Cripple Creek”, “The Weight”, and “The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down” at the Playhouse on Thursday, September 15, 2022 at 8pm. Lead singer, Jim Weider, former member of The Band and the Levon Helm Band, keeps the spirit of the past alive while also pushing the band’s music forward in their latest release.

Billy Bragg
, British punk folk activist, has been using his music platform to encourage change and engage listeners for over 35 years. He comes to the Ridgefield Playhouse on October 5, 2022 at 7:30pm sharing some of his rich and soul warming music catalog with famous tracks like “New England,” “Tanks Park Salute”, and “A Lover Sings.”  His socially conscious lyrics of love and politics have stood the test of time as is evident in his latest album “The Million Things That Never Happened.”

On Saturday, October 22, 2022 at 8pm, the Ridgefield Playhouse pulls back the curtain on the new and familiar sounds of Calexico with opening act by Ada Lea. Be one of the first to see this southwestern duo before their recently announced 2022 North American Summer Tour dates! A sound like no other, Calexico’s music ranges from desert-rock to Latin American harmonies as is evident in their 10th studio album “El Mirador” just released this month!  

Award-winning comedian Christine O’Leary shares the tricks of her very funny trade at the Playhouse in a six week Comedy Workshop on Mondays from 6:30pm to 8:30pm from May 16, 2022 to June 20, 2022. Christine has changed the lives of more than 500 students who have registered for her workshops and trainings and is ready to change yours too! Thanks to the generosity of the Beth and Bruce Becker Scholarship Fund, this opportunity is available to all who wish to add a little light and laughter into their life.
