12th Annual Juried Show Opens May 21st at the Guild!

Ridgefield Guild of Artists is pleased to announce the opening of their 12th Annual Juried Member Show. It runs from May 21 – June 19, with an awards reception on Saturday, May 21 from 4-6pm, free and open to all.

Of the 331 entries, this year’s juror, Lisa Cooper, selected 75 pieces from 74 artists to be included in the show with paintings, drawings, photography, fiber arts, sculpture, and more represented.

Lisa Cooper is this year’s juror. She launched Elisa Contemporary Art in November 2007 and the Elisa Contemporary Art Gallery was opened in September 2008 in Riverdale, NY. The gallery mission is to present art that transforms lives, and an integral element of that is helping others.  A portion of gallery sales are donated to philanthropic organizations that help children and families within underserved communities heal and grow through their experience with art.

The gallery has curated over 40 exhibits in public and private art spaces within the Tri-State area, and participated in Art Fairs in New York, the Hamptons and Miami.  Elisa Contemporary Art is also a featured gallery on1stdibs.

In addition to the gallery, in 2017 Lisa opened an Art Salon in Fairfield CT.  At her Art Salon, she has hosted a series of events and talks on Art Collecting and Interior Design.

Lisa was a founding member of the New York Chapter of the Association of Women Art Dealers.  She is currently a member of the Arts & Architecture Review Committee at Saint Peter’s Church in Manhattan, Art Table, and the Cultural Alliance of Fairfield County.

“We are thrilled with the response to our call for art for the annual juried member show this year,” said Mary Pat Devine, President of the Guild. “It shows we have a good number of members who want to create and be considered by Lisa Cooper to be part of the show.”

The Guild’s antique barn is located at 34 Halpin Lane, at the bottom of the hill just before Ridgefield’s Rail Trail.  Regular gallery hours are Wednesday – Sunday, 12-4pm.  For more details, along with all Guild offerings, visit www.rgoa.org or call 203.438.8863.  RGOA is a tax-exempt 501c3 non-profit arts organization, now in its 47th year.  All contributions are gratefully accepted.
