Shiny Red Fire Trucks and Marching Bands Parade Down Main Street to Celebrate RVFD's 125 Year Anniversary

Hundreds of community members lined Main Street last night to watch the Firemen’s Parade, part of Ridgefield Volunteer Fire Department’s 125 Anniversary celebration. The grand finale takes place tonight by way of magnificent fireworks set to light up the sky at dusk.

It was a sight to behold - children wearing fire hats, their eyes aglow watching red, shiny fire trucks accompanied by department members and local marching bands make their way from Casagmo down Main Street. The final resting stop was Carnival headquarters at East Ridge Middle School.

A patriotic reviewing stand was stationed on the corner of Main and Catoonah where Judges carefully watched each department ultimately deciding best in show.

Bedford Hills took the grand prize of “Best Overall”. Pound Ridge had the “Best Fire Department Colorguard” and Noroton had the “Best Engine” and the “Best Chief’s Vehicle”.

Head to the Carnival tonight (final evening) at 6pm! Bracelets are $30. Fireworks at dusk.

Happy 125 years to the amazing Ridgefield Volunteer Fire Department! Thanks for inviting us to take part in the incredible celebration!
