CHIRP brings Bumper Jacksons and Joslyn & Sweet Compression to Ballard Park this Week

CHIRP Presents free outdoor family concerts open to the public in Ridgefield’s Ballard Park every Tuesday and Thursday evening at 7pm through September 1, 2022.

Tuesday, July 5: The Bumper Jacksons

Having virtually cornered the market on Washington D.C.’s awards in 2020, this band paints America’s story from the streets of New Orleans to Appalachian hollers. Unafraid to scrap together new sounds from forgotten 78’s, they elegantly balance paying homage to the traditions while fashioning their own unique, playful style. The group began as a duo, a city-meets-country experiment between songstress Jess Eliot Myhre and banjo player Chris Ousley.

Thursday, July 7: Joslyn & the Sweet Compression

Joslyn & The Sweet Compression (Marty Charters – guitar, Steve Holloman – keyboards, Smith Donaldson – bass, Rashawn Fleming – drums, Trevin Little – saxophone, and Chase Fleming – trombone and trumpet) combine to deliver a hook-filled mix of funk and soul on their self-titled debut album, released in 2019. A headlining favorite at regional clubs and music festivals, they are poised to engage fans across the country with widespread touring in 2022.
