From Ship to Shore: Maritime Art Program at the Ridgefield Library July 25th

Make a splash and join the Ridgefield Library and ArtScapades for an ocean-themed talk about the sea, as seen by artists over the centuries.

Learn how the sea has been depicted from 17th century realistic seascapes to 20th century abstract water views, by artists including JMW Turner, Friedrich Casper, Claude Monet, Gustave Caillebotte, Paul Signac, and Winslow Homer (pictured, On the Lee Side).

Artscapades lectures take a look at important artists, background information on their life and work, style characteristics, and the relationships of artistic movements to historic and intellectual aspects of the time when the their artwork was created.

This program will take place on Monday, July 25th at 6:30pm on the Lower Level of the Ridgefield Library.

Wine and cheese will be served. Please register.

This "Oceans of Possibility" Summer Reading Program is made possible by the Friends of the Ridgefield Library.
