Best of RIFF Shorts Fest on Sunday, August 21 beginning at 2pm at The Ridgefield Playhouse
RIFF’s mission is to make the world more compassionate by sharing stories through cinema.
We continue that mission in our 7th year with the BEST OF RIFF SHORTS FEST – Are The Kids All Right? Raising Resilient Children in Cinema.
Funded by a grant from CT Humanities and presented with support from The Ridgefield Playhouse, Ridgefield Thrift Shop and WSHU Public Radio, this 103-minute screening features 9 short films celebrating youth culture and 7 years of Ridgefield Independent Film Festival.
Following the screenings will be a panel discussion moderated by Lisa Cambridge-Mitchell, featuring many of the filmmakers along with film critic, Joe Meyers on the history and language of youth in cinema, and a presentation of our Emerging Filmmaker Award to Ridgefield resident Nicholas Burns for his film, “Nothing is Going to Change”. A reception will be held immediately following in the Playhouse Lobby with gourmet hot dogs by Chéz Lenard and Beer provided by Nod Hill Brewery.
