Stories Under the Stars on Friday with storyteller Valerie Tutson, presented by the First Congregational Church

Take an imaginary voyage with Valerie Tutson, a multiple award-winning storyteller, who will be performing on Friday, August 26th at 6:00 PM at the First Congregational Church of Ridgefield located at 103 Main Street in Ridgefield. This casual family-friendly event is free and open to the public.

“Stories Under the Stars” sponsored by the First Congregational Church of Ridgefield, will feature Tutson presenting stories from around the world with an emphasis on African traditions. Her repertoire includes stories and songs she learned in her travels to South Africa, her experiences in West Africa and stories from African American history. She is a graduate of Brown University where she earned a master’s degree in theater arts and a BA in her self-designed Major of Storytelling as a Communications Art.

Guests will be provided with hot dogs and assorted refreshments, so bring an appetite, along with a lawn chair or blanket to enjoy the performance in comfort.

Teaming with Jericho Partnership, FCC is seeking monetary donations at this event to benefit Jericho’s "Weekender Bag" ministry which provides students in two Danbury schools with meals on Saturdays and Sundays, the days schools don't provide free breakfast & lunch.
