How to Read and Love Poetry 5 -Week Online Series Begins This Wednesday at Ridgefield Library

“It’s boring”…”It’s elitist”…”It’s just for English majors”…”I DON’T GET IT!” If you share any of these feelings about poetry, then you’re in for a wonderful awakening: poetry is for everyone!

Join Ridgefield Poet Laureate Barb Jennes and the Ridgefield Library for a joyful romp through poetry as it’s meant to be: evocative, entertaining, and ALIVE. Over the course of five evenings, we’ll revisit basic poetic concepts – imagery, metaphor, meter, and more – as they appear in accessible poems by some of today’s finest contemporary poets. You’ll even be challenged to try your hand at some of the tools and forms yourself. Attend any or all of the scheduled sessions. No previous experience reading or writing poetry required.

Classes will be held via Zoom and kick off on Wednesday, September 14th at 7:00pm.  REGISTER

Future dates include September 21st and 28th, October 5th and 12th.

Please register for each class individually.
