Ridgefield Symphony Orchestra Opens 58th Season on Saturday with FREEDOM

The Ridgefield Symphony Orchestra opens its 58th season on October 1st at 7:30 PM at Richardson Auditorium at Ridgefield High School with FREEDOM, a concert featuring incredible music and an internationally acclaimed soloist.

Making her first appearance with the RSO, and performing Mendelssohn’s gorgeous Violin Concerto in E minor, violinist Karen Gomyo has performed with orchestras all over the world, including recent performances with the New York Philharmonic, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Rome’s Accademia Nazionale de Santa Cecilia and the Czech Philharmonic. “We are so fortunate to have a soloist of this caliber performing right here in Ridgefield in concert with the outstanding musicians of the RSO, and under the leadership of our music director Yuga Cohler,” says Executive Director Laurie Kenagy. “Being able to present this level of talent locally and accessibly is a result, and a huge benefit, of having a world-class professional symphony orchestra right in our own community.”

The concert will also include the grand and powerful Beethoven’s Leonore Overture No. 3 and Igor Stravinsky’s Firebird Suite, which has long been considered to be the most dramatic finale on any musical program.

The RSO invites you to join us for what is sure to be a fantastic evening of music! For more information on the concert and to purchase tickets, visit https://ridgefieldsymphony.org/buy-tickets or call the RSO at 203.438.3889.
