
It’s time for THE RIDGEFIELD PLAYHOUSE: WEEKEND ROUND UP!
On Sun, January 8 at 2pm Ridgefield Responds and the Ridgefield Independent Film Festival Present a film screening event and fundraiser for Ukraine. Hot off its World Premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival, A Rising Fury, comes to the Ridgefield Playhouse. Filmed over 8 years, it tracks the evolution of the conflict in Ukraine. The film follows two hopeful Ukrainian idealists from the peaceful protest of the 2013 Maidan Revolution in Kyiv to the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. A Q&A hosted by Ridgefield’s own Ira Joe Fisher, and co-moderated by Dora Chomiak, President of Razom for Ukraine, will feature panelists Lesya Kalynska, Co-director, screenwriter, producer of “A Rising Fury”; TJ Collins, Producer of “A Rising Fury”; and Ambassador William Taylor, Vice President US Institute of Peace and former US Ambassador to Ukraine (2006-2009, 2019). After the panel discussion, enjoy sampling Ukrainian food, drink and music at the Taste of Ukraine Reception. Meet the filmmakers and panelists in person. ALL PROCEEDS GO TO PROVIDING HUMANITARIAN AID IN UKRAINE.
