Ridgefield Guild of Artists Celebrates Its 10th Annual Art Walk!

Ridgefield Guild of Artists presents its 10th annual Art Walk, when downtown Ridgefield comes alive with “strolling” art galleries.

Art Walk 2023 kicks off on Friday, August 25and runs through Sunday, September 10.  Artists from Ridgefield and surrounding towns in Connecticut and New York are participating, presenting paintings, photography, prints, sculpture and much more on the streets and in storefront windows.

Thirty-four merchants along Main Street, Bailey Avenue and Catoonah Street are “hosting” forty-six individual artists for Art Walk 2023.  Opening night is August 25 from 5-8pm with artists outside their stores for “meet and greets.”  Saturday, August 26, is Artist Day, with many of the participating artists on the sidewalks showing their wares and demonstrating their craft.

Art Walk 2023 brings art, music and a festive atmosphere to downtown RidgefieldPam Stoddart, Executive Director of Ridgefield Guild of Artists and Chair of the event, invites everyone to join our artists: “It’s our 10th annual end-of-summer celebration!  We look forward to welcoming our artists and ‘strolling’ visitors opening weekend.”  All artwork is for sale. Proceeds are shared between the artists and RGOA, a 501c3 non-profit organization. The Guild’s portion helps with general expenses and future programming.

“Plan to come to downtown Ridgefield opening weekend with tons of art, artists, and music! It's become our end-of-summer tradition,” said Mary Pat Devine, President of the Guild. “We love to bring Guild artists’ works out into our Ridgefield community, and thank everyone for supporting the arts.”

The Guild thanks Art Walk sponsors and contributors helping to make this event possible: Fairfield County Bank, RPAC Gallery, Books on the Common, and graphic designers Kristin Healy and Mara Freeman. We appreciate the generosity and cooperation of all the participating merchants who welcome and find the space to showcase the Art Walk artists.

“Visit us at our two information tables this year, in front of Town Hall and William Pitt Sotheby’s on Friday evening and Saturday afternoon, for directions, maps and to process sales. We’ve added Venmo to make shopping even easier for grab-and-go items.” Maps of participating artists and stores are also available at each venue. Art Walk continues after the opening weekend festivities with artwork remaining in the stores through Sunday, September 10.  After Saturday, August 26, sales will be processed through the Guild by calling 203.438.8863, emailing artwalkridgefield@gmail.com, or using Venmo. (See QR code on the art tags.)

Ridgefield Guild of Artists is now in its forty-ninth year. The antique barn and gallery is located at 34 Halpin Lane, across from the Theater Barn.  For more information about Art Walk 2023 and all Guild offerings, visit www.rgoa.org or call 203.438.8863.
