Watch It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, in the Jesse Lee Pumpkin Patch on Saturday!

FREE Family Movie Night on Saturday, October 28 Featuring "It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” in the Jesse Lee Pumpkin Patch!

Settle down in a very sincere pumpkin patch – and watch while Linus does the same onscreen – during the family movie night on Sat., Oct. 28 in the Jesse Lee Pumpkin Patch.

This free fun event presents “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” on a large outdoor screen at Jesse Lee Church, 207 Main St. (at King Lane).

Start time is 6:30 p.m. To help the church plan, please register at www.jesseleechurch.com.

First aired on TV in 1966, “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” is an animated short based on the “Peanuts” comic strip. The story follows Charlie Brown, Lucy, Sally and their friends as they trick-or-treat on Halloween, while Linus forgoes the candy to wait in a pumpkin patch for the mythical Great Pumpkin.

The movie is for all ages, but is not a “drop-off” event. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

There will be free snacks and bottled water. So all can see the screen, please bring only blankets or low chairs to sit on.

A town tradition now for more than 30 years, the Jesse Lee Pumpkin Patch helps to give seasonal jobs to some 700 Navajo people in New Mexico where the pumpkins are grown. Additionally, a portion of the proceeds from pumpkin sales supports Jesse Lee’s outreach ministries for local folks in need.

For more information, call the church office at (203) 438-8791. Learn about all of Jesse Lee’s upcoming programs and events – including women’s Bible studies each Thursday, the Pumpkin Patch (daily through Oct. 31) and an inspired fall music series – at www.jesseleechurch.com
