DEMHS (Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection) has issued a Winter Storm Warning for Northern Fairfield, Northern New Haven and Northern Middlesex Counties until 4:00 am on Friday, November 16.
Towns included in the warning area include Danbury, Monroe, Shelton, Easton, Trumbull, Waterbury, Meriden, Beacon Falls, Naugatuck, Middletown, Franklin, Norwich and Lebanon.
Heavy snow and then mixed precipitation expected with snow accumulations 4 to 7 inches and then ice accumulations of about 1/10 of an inch.
The snow is expected to fall at a rate of 1 to 2 inches per hour. Wind may gust as high as 40 mph.
Hazardous conditions expected to impact this afternoon's commute.
