Aaron Crook Reports Several Cases of COVID at Ridgefield Public Schools

Positive COVID Cases at BMES, SRMS, SES, FES

Aaron Crook, RPS COVID-19 Health and Safety Compliance Liaison reported several cases of COVID at Ridgefield Public Schools. Please read his note below.

Today, we learned that a member of the Barlow Mountain Elementary School (BMES) tested positive for COVID-19. This individual was in the BMES building while potentially infectious to others on Monday, November 29 and Tuesday, November 30. Contact tracing has been completed.

We also learned today that a member of the Scotts Ridge Middle School (SRMS) community tested positive for COVID-19. This individual was in the SRMS building while potentially infectious to others on Monday, November 29, Tuesday, November 30, Wednesday, December 1, and Thursday, December 2. Contact tracing has been completed.

We also learned today that another member of the Barlow Mountain Elementary School (BMES) community tested positive for COVID-19. This individual was in the BMES building while potentially infectious to others on Tuesday, November 30. Contact tracing has been completed.

We also learned today that a member of the Scotland Elementary School (SES) community tested positive for COVID-19. This individual was in the SES building while potentially infectious to others on Tuesday , November 30, and Wednesday, December, 1. Contact tracing has been completed. 

We also learned today that a member of the Farmingville Elementary School (FES) community tested positive for COVID-19. This individual was in the FES building while potentially infectious to others on Tuesday, November 30, Wednesday, December 1, and Thursday December 2. Contact tracing is underway.

I conferred with Town of Ridgefield Health Director Ed Briggs and RHS Medical Advisor Dr. James Ahern about these cases.

For parents of students ages 5-11 who are interested in more information and/or resources regarding the COVID-19 vaccine, please contact your school nurse and/or pediatrician.
