Ridgefield BOE Appoints Michael Pisseri Principal of Scotland Elementary School

At a Special Meeting of the Ridgefield Board of Education on November 20, 2018, Mr. Michael Pisseri was unanimously appointed Principal of Scotland Elementary School.

Mr. Pisseri currently serves as Principal of Davenport Ridge Elementary School in Stamford, CT. He has been in that position since July 2011. Prior to his tenure in Stamford, Mr. Pisseri was an Assistant Principal in Norwalk, a social studies teacher and curriculum leader in Westport, and a social studies teacher in Stratford. Ms. Frances Walton, Chair of the Ridgefield Board of Education, stated, “The Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Michael Pisseri as Principal of Scotland Elementary School. He brings a wealth of social and emotional knowledge, which will be an asset to the district.”

Mr. Pisseri received his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts in Teaching from Fairfield University. He attended Sacred Heart University to obtain his Certificate of Advance Study in Educational Administration. Following the appointment, Mr. Pisseri shared, “I am excited to join the staff of Ridgefield Public Schools. It will be an honor to serve as the Principal of Scotland Elementary School, and I look forward to meeting the students, staff, and parents in the near future.” 

According to the Davenport Ridge Elementary School PTO President, Maggie Andersen, “I am constantly impressed with Michael’s ability to get things done. He builds relationships with everyone around him …”

Mr. Pisseri’s start date will be worked out between the two districts. A meet and greet with staff, parents, and students will be scheduled before the winter break.
