Ridgefield Public Schools welcomes Patricia Raneri as new ERMS Principal

On Monday, June 6, the Ridgefield Board of Education voted unanimously to support Superintendent Karen Baldwin's recommendation for a new Principal for East Ridge Middle School.

Patricia Raneri is currently Principal of Old Greenwich Elementary in Greenwich, and was previously Assistant Principal at Bedford Middle School in Westport. "Tricia's breadth of experience in both elementary and middle school education is a perfect fit for Ridgefield Public Schools," said Ridgefield Superintendent, Dr. Karen Baldwin.

Ms. Raneri skills and background in building positive school climate and creating strong learning communities impressed both the search committee and the Board. In Greenwich, she led several initiatives that improved school climate, with focus on leadership, communication, empowerment and inclusion.

Ms. Raneri's career has been characterized by leading initiatives directly relevant to Ridgefield's current needs: In 2015, she coordinated the successful rollout of 1:1 Technology Initiative in Greenwich. In Westport, she designed and implemented Flexible Block Scheduling to meet curricular demands more effectively. Ms. Raneri redesigned and developed the student support team's intervention strategies to address whole student learning and she chaired the Middle Level Information Literacy and Technology Committee, which identified best practices for technology integration within curriculum. Dr. Baldwin said, "Ms. Raneri is a community builder with thrilled to welcome her to our Ridgefield community."
