Ridgefield Cyclone Threat Downgraded

The system that posed a cyclone threat to our area is still active, although at this point in time, it is not forecast to develop into a tropical system for at least another 24 hours.  The center of the storm is currently forecast to pass around 200 miles to the southeast of Montauk Point Wednesdaymorning.

The impact to our area should be minimal. There is a high risk of rip currents at Atlantic Beaches today into Wednesday.  In the worst case scenario, Fairfield County could see heavy wind gusts and coastal flooding.

There is still some uncertainty with the exact track, timing and strength of Potential Tropical Cyclone 10, but the impact appears to be minimal at the moment.
