Ridgefield Holiday Stroll Ends With Marriage Proposal on Main Street!

The grand finale of Ridgefield’s Holiday Stroll was nothing short of a Hallmark Channel Christmas movie as two hearts beat as one outside of Deborah Ann’s Sweet Shoppe.

The Ridgefield High School Drumline and our picturesque Main Street served as the backdrop for a magical marriage proposal.

The future groom, Angelo Rodrigues, a resident of Massapequa, NY, wanted the spirit of the season to sparkle as he asked Krystal Colissi, also from Massapequa, to be his beloved wife.

She said Yes in front of a crowd of about one hundred onlookers.

“She just loves Christmas,” explains his aunt, Sandrine  Fernandes, who helped to coordinate the romantic details of the special event.

A 20 year resident of Ridgefield, Fernandes says, “Since I’ve lived here, my nephew has visited me every year and aspires to live here someday.” She adds, “When he found out about the holiday stroll he thought, there’s no better place to [ask her to marry me] than the Holiday Stroll.”

“I’m so obsessed with this town,” Rodrigues said. “This was perfect,” he added.

Fernandes, who is friends with one of the parents of an RHS Drumline member, decided the musical beat of a drum would nicely accompany the beating hearts of a couple in love. She was right.

We wish Angelo and Krystal a lifetime of love and happiness.
