Remnants of Tropical Cyclone Florence could bring locally heavy rainfall Monday and Tuesday

NOAA  has reported that remnants of Florence could impact our area late Monday throughout the day on Tuesday. There is a potential for locally heavy rainfall with 2 to 4 inches, the greatest impact is expected north of New York City metro region, particularly through the Catskills and Central New England.

"The forecast rainfall amount depends not only on the track of the remnant low but also its forward speed. The latest trend is for the remains of Florence to move quicker to the east-northeast than previously forecast. There is some potential for this trend to continue. If this happens, then average rainfall totals will decrease, since the area will experience less time receiving rainfall.  Even with the faster motion though, locally heavy rainfall remains possible," explains Meteorologists at NOAA.
