ACT of Connecticut's gripping performance of EVITA earns acclaim in Ridgefield

EVITA took Ridgefield by theatrical storm this weekend! ACT of Connecticut brought Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s seven-time Tony Award winner to life inside the new Equity theater.

Opening night was sold out and the demand for Broadway in Ridgefield is so strong that additional shows have been added through November 11.

Co-Founder and Artistic Director of ACT of Connecticut, Daniel C. Levine said that he yearned to direct EVITA for many years. Levine’s passion rang true in a riveting performance featuring renowned talent which included Julia Estrada as the beautiful Eva Perón and her husband Juan Perón, played by Ryan K. Bailer. Estrada’s rendition of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s “Don’t Cry for Me Argentina” will give you goosebumps.

Winner of seven Tony Awards®, EVITA follows the powerful rise and fall of Eva Perón who escaped the slums of Argentina to become the country’s First Lady by the age of 27. A champion of the poor,  Perón earns the admiration and respect of the people. “Don’t Cry for Me Argentina” perfectly illustrates this thought-provoking musical that captures the history and political landscape of Argentina in the 1940’s.

EVITA's all-star cast of Broadway professionals dazzled the audience with show-stopping numbers and musical bits leaving the theater-goers humming “Don’t Cry for Me Argentina” long after the curtain closed.

Performances of EVITA continue through November 11, Thursdays at 7pm, Fridays at 8pm, Saturdays at 2pm and 8pm, and Sundays at 2pm.

Show dates continue to sell out and ACT of Connecticut is encouraging theater enthusiasts to invest in its annual subscription (season ticket) packages.
