Ridgefield Conservatory of Dance to bring The Nutcracker to Life During Holiday Stroll

Ridgefield Conservatory of Dance (RCD) brings the holiday season to life with their production of the Nutcracker

This year a lot of exciting new changes are coming to RCD’s production of the Nutcracker! We have our largest cast to date, and with that, a growing and evolving spectacle of the Nutcracker.

Nutcracker Director Alexander Glaz explains, “In the first act, I am adding a number of new characters such as the ‘Clock Critters,’ a ‘Parlor Maid,’ and the ‘Columbine Doll’ as part of the party scene. In the second act, ‘Little Lanterns’ of the Chinese dance will be making their appearance followed by ‘Matryoshkas’ of the Russian dance. And last but not least, the grand premiere of ‘Mother Ginger’ with the hope that we can fit her dress through the wings and onto the stage! This will surely be a treat and an inspiration for the whole family.”

In addition to the cast of live window mannequin dancers that have come to be an annual tradition during Downtown Ridgefield’s Holiday Stroll, you can see a free public in-studio holiday performance featuring RCD’s performing ensembles on Saturday, December 1 at 7 pm.
