Ridgefield Ranked #4 of Connecticut's Top Ten Business-Friendly Towns

A new study, conducted by the Yankee Institute for Public Policy announced Connecticut's Top Ten Business-Friendly Towns, ranking Ridgefield #4.

Here's what Yankee Institute had to say about Ridgefield:

Boutiques, stores, and restaurants on Main Street and Danbury Road, as well as the popular Ridgefield Playhouse, attract visitors year-round. In fact, around half of business revenues are generated from Ridgefield visitors. Ridgefield’s high community allure and economic vitality outweighed the town’s low transportation infrastructure score and high tax burden, making it No. 4 on our list.

According to the report, the authors of Connecticut’s Top Ten Business-Friendly Towns collected and measured data from Connecticut’s 50 largest municipalities based on community allure, economic vitality, tax burden and transportation infrastructure and found that while the state may be in dire economic straits, some towns are still able to foster a competitive business environment.

Fairfield leads the pack as the most business-friendly. Coming in at #2 was Greenwich followed by Westport (#3), Ridgefield (#4) and Simsbury (#5).
