Connecticut Explorations Begin in New Travel Guide

The start of a year is a great time to think about travel and discovery and The Ridgefield Historical Society has a new book that can lead to scores of nearby adventures. “Connecticut 169 Club: Your Passport & Guide to Exploring Connecticut” was compiled by historian Marty Podskoch as a way of introducing the Nutmeg State’s 169 town’s and villages, as well as providing an activity for families to share.

‘Connecticut 169 Club” indexed and organized by counties, includes information on each of the town’s, with points of interest, historical sites, and contact information. Ridgefield’s information was provided by the Ridgefield Historical Society.

The interactive portion of the book is a town and village checklist and space for travel notes. Those who complete the checklist may send a copy to the author who will send a Leatherman Award patch. Mr. Paodskoch also plans to organize an annual dinner for Connecticut explorers, to take place in a different town each year, just as the Adirondack club does.

Book Price: $22 Members, $24.95 Nonmembers.
