ACT of Connecticut Brings Schwartz’s WORKING To New Level

ACT of Connecticut’s Artistic Director, Daniel C. Levine Incorporates Locals Into WORKING Through Innovative Video Vignettes

Stephen Schwartz’s WORKING brings America’s unsung heroes to life through music, and video imagery that captures hardworking local in action - the waitress, the schoolteacher, the stay-at-home mom, the firefighter, and the arborist (to name a few).  But, it’s Daniel C. Levine, ACT (A Contemporary Theatre) of Connecticut  Artistic Director and Co-Founder, who brilliantly reworks WORKING.

ACT’s production features six Broadway actors whose musical numbers were interlaced with stories about the people who make Ridgefield, Connecticut tick. Stop at Tony’s Corner Deli for an egg sandwich, have Barts Tree Service trim your tree, or buy something at our local CVS and you’ll meet some of them. These are the people who not always recognized and most certainly are underappreciated.  Why do they work? Levine finds out while ACT’s all-star cast celebrates their value and oftentimes unrecognized importance.

ACT’s reimagined WORKING works. The renowned Broadway performers, combined with Levine’s creative innovation take this musical to a whole new level.

The final performance of WORKING took place today. Don't miss out! ACT’s next show in its inaugural season, AUSTEN’S PRIDE, a new musical of Pride and Prejudice, debuts March 28-April 14, 2019. Purchase tickets to AUSTEN’S PRIDE here.
