Ridgefield Symphony Orchestra Holds Annual Meeting, Announces 2019-20 Season

The Ridgefield Symphony Orchestra held is annual season-end meeting on Monday, June 3rd at the Keeler Tavern Museum Garden Room. RSO board members, Ridgefield Orchestra Foundation board members, RSO musicians and subscribers were in attendance to hear Maestro Yuga Cohler present the upcoming 2019-20 season. The presentation was proceeded by a brief business meeting and was followed by a wonderful musical performance by Suzanne Corey-Sahlin violist, and Gunnar Sahlin, cellist.

In presenting the upcoming season, Cohler discussed the thinking behind the programming for 2019-20. “Ridgefield is the smallest town in American to support a fully professional orchestra. That is a remarkable fact, and is both an opportunity and a responsibility to help define what the American orchestra should be in the 21st century” stated Cohler. “Innovating and setting a course forward for what American orchestras can and should do for their communities in modern society was the starting point for programming this season.”

The season’s primary performances will consist of four concerts entitled “Medley”, “Tribute”, Soirée” and “History”. To see Maestro Cohler’s presentation of the 2019-20 season, click here.
