Falling in Love in Downtown Ridgefield: The Flower Lady and Biscuit

Before rain took the day by storm, downtown Ridgefield was hopping! In addition to the Thrown Stone team hanging banners on the Main Street lampposts and the Flower Lady tail + her tail wagging sidekick giving the beautiful flowering baskets a drink, the sidewalks were busy with shoppers, strollers, runners.

Did you know? The Flower Lady (aka Spencer Moore) and 14-year-old Biscuit, who affectionately ride through town in a golf cart, have kept the Town of Ridgefield's flower baskets watered and healthy for eight summers (and counting)? It takes the duo a little more than three hours to water all of the baskets in the downtown area, plus another four hours to water the baskets on the north end of Main Street (aka Danbury Road area).

The Flower Lady says that Biscuit is eager to join her in her golf cart each day and happily lays atop a comfy dog bed. “Mike Zap, the handyman made this bed for Biscuit," says The Flower Lady.

There are so many reasons we fall in love with Ridgefield (over and over again, on a daily basis). The Flower Lady and Biscuit, Thrown Stone, local shops, nonprofits, art-scene, big dogs and little dogs who stroll our sidewalks with their humans... these are but a few.
