Ridgefield Weather: Winter Weather Advisory Monday into Tuesday

Winter Weather Advisory for snow and ice

Winter precipitation is expected to move into the region Monday night and continue into Tuesday, tapering off Tuesday evening. The highest amounts of snow and ice are expected across the interior where there will be a longer period of wintry precipitation. Closer to the coast, the period of snow and wintry mix will be less with the NYC Metro and Long Island regions just confined to Monday evening.

Travel impacts will be most likely for the areas under the winter weather advisory across the interior where temperatures will be below freezing and roads are expected to become slippery from snow and ice.

For the interior, including the rest of Northeast NJ, the Lower Hudson Valley as well as Southern CT: 1 to around 2 inches.

For the NYC Metro and Long Island as well as Hudson, Eastern Essex, and Eastern Union counties in NJ: 1/2 to around 1 inch.

Forecast Total Ice Accumulations:

For the interior, including the rest of Northeast NJ, the Lower Hudson Valley as well as Southern CT: Up to around a tenth of an inch.

For the NYC Metro and Long Island as well as Hudson, Essex, and Union counties in NJ: No ice accumulation is expected.
