New Year's Day Musings from Ira Joe Fisher

The calmest day of the year. New Year’s Day. For a number of reasons. We know those reasons.

Last night’s cacophony (raised by beverages and revelers – from Times Square to your paper-napkined living room) is over.

So today’s settling into 2020 softens time. We sigh at the fading holidays. The drooping tree. The cards in a pile. Wrapping paper wilting in the corner.

Smiles aren’t ended, they’re just resting.

And the calmest day of the year is all about that: RESTING. And RESOLVING.

Stepping into a new now. With the happy hope that this year will be different by being better than last year. The year will do as the year will do.

It’s up to you and up to me to provide the better part. By BEING better. By DOING better.

Rising from the calm and stepping into 2020 …better.
