Have you noticed the Main Street pasture complete with grazing lambs (27 to be exact)? It is the handiwork of the Keeler Tavern Museum & History Center (KTMHC) and part of their community lamb decorating contest.
"The competition is fierce this year for the "people's choice" decorated lamb but there's still plenty of time to vote for your fave. Remember, you must "like" our page to "like" your favorite lamb," KTMHC explains.
How do you go about doing that? Vote, share, have fun by visiting KTMHC on Facebook here.
OK, so why lambs?
KTMHC poses the question: "Did you know that Ridgefield schools during the 18th century were funded by lambs?" That's right - lambs! According to KTMHC, Ridgefield owned 2,000 lambs that it rented to property owners to fertilize and maintain their lawns and yards, and proceeds funded school programs.
