Thank You to so many for helping bring drive-in movies to Ridgefield

As always, Ridgefield, it’s been a pleasure to bring family-friendly drive-in movies to our town! In early May, when Kathy Graham called me one morning to say she thought we should try to bring drive-in movies to Ridgefield, I didn't realize how easy it would be to get so many people involved. With every phone call, more and more people got involved and excited to help bring some fun to town. It’s true, community is not canceled! It might look a bit different, but Ridgefield is still the best small town in Connecticut!

A huge thank you to the following:

To Kathy Graham from Fairfield County Bank for her ideas and inspiration;

To Allison Stockel, Lisa Barrett, and the Ridgefield Playhouse staff for all their help in securing the movies;

To Pamme Jones from the Ridgefield Theater Barn, First Selectman Rudy Marconi, Joe Morits from Ridgefield High School, Mary Jo Madden from United Site Services, and all the volunteers who helped with parking and parking lot set-up;

To the Ridgefield Police Department and the Ridgefield Volunteer Fire Department for always putting the safety of our guests first;

To the Ridgefield Highway Department for safety cones and Ridgefield Parks and Rec for trash receptacles and additional safety cones;

To Kerry Anne Ducey of HamletHub and the many other media sources for helping us promote and spread the word about the movies;

To our movie sponsors, Fairfield County Bank, the Ridgefield Conservatory of Dance, the Ridgefield Playhouse, and the Downtown Ridgefield Merchants Association;

To Andrew Kolaski and his staff at A Plus Audio and Visual for securing the screen and helping with the movies; and finally

To the people of Ridgefield, thank you for spending your June weekends with us… I guess what Ray Kinsella said in Field of Dreams, our final movie of the season, is true… “If you build it, they will come.”

Additionally, the giant movie screen is available, free-of-charge, to all local arts organizations as long as A Plus Audio and Visual is included in the event.

Stay safe, Ridgefield, and I look forward to seeing you around town.

Thank you again,

Billy Craig, Craig's Fine Jewelry
