Ridgefield Storm Recovery Update: Fire Dept. Receives CO2 Poisoning Calls, Crew Expected in Town Tomorrow, No Estimate on Complete Restoration

In tonight's Everbridge message, First Selectman Rudy Marconi reported that 77% of the town is without power and there is no estimation yet on complete restoration time. "It has been reported that mutual aid has been slow due to COVID-19," said Marconi.

Restoration

As a result, he said that we are waiting for crews from New Hampshire and Massachusettes once they have addressed their local issues. Marconi said that several crew are expected to be in town tomorrow.

CO2 poisoning due to improper use of generators

The fire department has received numerous calls for CO2 poisoning due to improper use of generators. Marconi reminds residents not to operate generators in a closed space like a garage or inside your home. Make sure the generator is far enough away from your home with no opportunity for carbon monoxide to seep into the house.
