Three Days Remain to Sign Up for Light Fight

If you usually put holiday lights up on your trees and/or home (or business) in December, you could put up the same exact lights this year AND sign up for the Founders Hall-iday Light Fight!

There is no fee to sign up. But there are only three more days before registration closes on Sunday, November 1.

The Founders Hall-iday Light Fight is a new community holiday light decorating contest to benefit Founders Hall. The house or business that raises the most money for Founders Hall will be the contest winner.

Founders Hall members have been isolated since March, and this is something fun that they – and Ridgefield families – can do while staying socially distant.

Founders Hall will publicize the addresses of all the houses and businesses that are competing. We will put signs on competitors’ lawns so people will know who the Light Fight competitors are, and we will provide business competitors with a poster to affix to their storefront.

There are two requirements for competitors:
1) They must have their lights on every evening, from 6:00 – 9:00 pm, from December 10 – 20.
2) Their lights must be easily visible from the road.

Between December 10 and 20, Ridgefielders will drive from address to address enjoying the lights. People will have the option to vote for their favorites with a donation to Founders Hall, and the house that raises the most money will be crowned the winner. Voting is optional and there is no ticket to buy to drive by the displays.

Founders Hall is a donor-supported education and recreation center for individuals age 60 and older. It provides social, educational and physical fitness programs in a warm, fun and stimulating atmosphere. Membership is free to Ridgefielders who are 60 or older and their spouse. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Founders Hall is currently holding classes and activities virtually.
