Christmas holiday may bring heavy rain and damaging wind gusts

Ridgefield Emergency Manager Dick Aarons says that the National Weather Service forecast for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day (and beyond) are still a bit uncertain.
 
Nevertheless, Aarons says that "hazardous conditions are possible for Ridgefield from Thursday evening through Christmas Day including heavy rain and damaging wind gusts.  Please keep an eye on the weather if you plan a trip over the river and through the woods to grandma's house.  The journey could be troublesome."

Rain likely, mainly after 3pm. Cloudy, with a high near 56. Southeast wind 7 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

Rain. The rain could be heavy at times. Steady temperature around 56. Breezy, with a southeast wind 16 to 23 mph, with gusts as high as 49 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New precipitation amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible.
 
Christmas Day
Rain, mainly before noon. The rain could be heavy at times. Temperature falling to around 37 by 5pm. Breezy, with a south wind 10 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 43 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New precipitation amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible.

Partly cloudy, with a low around 19.
