Town of Ridgefield Accepting Applications for Firefighter/Paramedic or Firefighter/EMT

The Town of Ridgefield will be accepting applications for the position of Firefighter/Paramedic or Firefighter/EMT through 4:00 PM, Friday, May 7, 2021.

Applicants MUST be non-smokers, in good physical condition and of high moral character interested in a career in the Ridgefield Fire and EMS Services.

No previous firefighting experience is required. Applicants must be a minimum of 18 years of age and possess a valid State of Connecticut Paramedic license to be considered for a position. Candidates must also possess a valid Connecticut vehicle operator’s license or eligible for CT reciprocity.

The Town of Ridgefield requires candidates to have successfully passed the Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT), and must provide proof of valid CPAT effective no earlier than July 1st , 2019 or have passed the CPAT by the time of appointment (anticipated mid July).

Fire Fighter Recruit Graduates will be given extra consideration when we review applications.

This position may work rotating 24-hour shifts or rotating 12-hour day shifts scheduled after Recruit Firefighter Training and/or department orientation. The full time starting salary for a Firefighter/Paramedic is $60,772 per year.
