Have you noticed trash around town? Ridgefield will go without Rid Litter Day again in 2021

Earth Day is TODAY, April 22 - let's do our part to keep Ridgefield beautiful and litter-free!

Have you noticed a lot of litter and trash around town this spring?  Barbara Hartman Chair of Caudatowa Garden Club's Rid Litter Day says, "It is worse than ever because we could not hold official Rid Litter Days in 2020." And, sadly, Hartman added, "We won't be doing it in 2021 either."

Earth Day is April 22, Ridgefield! Let's all do our part to celebrate the theme this year, Restore our Earth, by getting rid of the litter and trash around your neighborhood and our community.

Hartman says, "We are hoping that individuals will put on a mask and gloves and pick up litter on their adopted streets and anywhere else they see it." Hartman points out that non-residential particularly bad. "We are asking people to dispose of whatever they pick up on their own."

Added bonus - separating the cans and bottles from the rest of the trash is a homerun! "That's even better," says Hartman.

For any questions or if you need gloves, masks and trash bags, please reach out to Barbara Hartman via email at barbara-hartman@sbcglobal.net.
