Fall Registration Opens At Ridgefield School of Dance

Registration is now open for in-person fall classes at the Ridgefield School of Dance at 66 Grove Street. The 2021 fall session starts on September 8 with a full roster of classes for dancers from pre-ballet through adult.

With ballet as its core discipline, the ballet department, headed by artistic director Jessica Boelts, offers classes starting with pre-ballet for boys and girls starting at age 3 and continues through seven graded levels culminating in Company, pointe and partnering for advanced level dancers.  For teens who are newly interested in ballet, or those who can only commit to a once a week class, the school offers Ballet for Teens. Jazz, musical theatre, lyrical and contemporary are all offered through the school’s jazz department.

Adults take heart in the offering of beginning and intermediate ballet, adult jazz, adult tap and Nia, a mind-body-spirit class that is a mix of dance, martial arts and mindfulness.

Reflecting on the past year that has just ended with its summer dance program, Executive Director Alison Brown said, “All things considered, we had a wonderful year with the studio open and all classes offered in person. Those more comfortable participating class remotely were allowed to attend via Zoom.”

Ending the year with a performance of Four Seasons at The Klein in Bridgeport, the school has already scheduled its Nutcracker and spring performances.

To register, information can be found on the school’s website: theridgefieldschoolofdance.com/registration-policies. Class size is limited and intermediate to advanced dancers interested in joining the studio, may need to take a placement class to be assigned to the level for their experience and skills.
