Aaron Crook Reports Several COVID Cases in Ridgefield Public Schools

Aaron Crook, RPS COVID-19 Health and Safety Compliance Liaison, reports several positive cases of COVID-19 

RHS

Wednesday afternoon Crook says the District learned that a member of the Ridgefield High School (RHS) community tested positive for COVID-19. This individual was in the RHS building while potentially infectious to others on Thursday, November 18, and Friday, November 19. Contact tracing has been completed.

On Friday, Crook reports that a member of the Ridgefield High School (RHS) community tested positive for COVID-19. This individual was not in the RHS building during a period of time when they were potentially infectious to others and has a known source of infection from outside of the RHS building. No contact tracing is needed.

On Sunday, the District learned that a member of the Ridgefield High School (RHS) community tested positive for COVID-19. This individual was not in the RHS building during a period of time when they were potentially infectious to others. No contact tracing is needed.

Crook reports that on Sunday, another member of the Ridgefield High School (RHS) community tested positive for COVID-19. This individual was in the RHS building while potentially infectious to others on Monday, November 22, and Tuesday, November 23. They have a known source of exposure from outside of the RHS building. Contact tracing for this case is underway.

SES

On Friday, the District learned that a member of the Scotland Elementary School (SES) tested positive for COVID-19. This individual was in the SES building while potentially infectious to others on Monday, November 22, Tuesday, November 23 and Wednesday, November 24. In school transmission cannot be ruled out in this case. Contact tracing for this case has been completed.

On Sunday, a member of the SES community tested positive for COVID-19. This individual was not in the SES building during a period of time when they were potentially infectious to others, and has a known source of exposure from outside of the SES building. No contact tracing is needed.

ERMS

Also on Friday, Crook says a member of the East Ridge Middle School (ERMS) community tested positive for COVID-19. This individual was not in the ERMS building during a period of time while they were potentially infectious to others. No contact tracing is needed.

"I conferred with Town of Ridgefield Health Director Ed Briggs and RHS Medical Advisor Dr. James Ahern about these cases," says Crook.

For parents of students ages 5-11 who are interested in more information and/or resources regarding the COVID-19 vaccine, please contact your school nurse and/or pediatrician.
