SNOW DAY! Ridgefield Public Schools CLOSED Tomorrow!

This evening, Dr. Susie Da Silva announced that due to the forecast of snow, Ridgefield Public Schools will be CLOSED tomorrow, Friday, January 7, 2022. And, tomorrow Veterans Park hill may just look like the photo!

Please read Dr. Da Silva's message below.

Our region is expecting moderate to heavy snow during the morning commute tomorrow, Friday, January 7, 2022. Given the timing and duration of the storm, and in consultation with the Town Highway Department, it is not believed that there will be adequate time to clean up for a late school arrival, as a result, schools will be closed.  All afternoon activities will be cancelled or rescheduled for a later date. As a reminder, our weather decision procedures can be found here.

All 12 month staff members, your supervisor will provide further communication.

For our students, there is no need to wish for a snow day.  You can now skip the wishing rituals: wearing your PJs inside out, doing a snow dance, placing a spoon under the pillow, white crayon in the freezer, ice cubes…. Given that our schools are closed, I hope there is plenty of snow to play in–you deserve it!

Thank you, and as always stay safe.
