Ridgefield Travel Alert Due to Route 7 Pump Station Project

Route 7 Pump Station, Force Main and Wastewater Treatment Facility Decommissioning Project 

The Water Pollution Control Authority’s Wastewater Facilities Upgrade project includes construction of approximately 13,600 linear feet of new 8-inch diameter underground force main piping from the Route 7 Pump Station to the South Street Wastewater Treatment Facility. The existing Route 7 Pump Station will be demolished and replaced with a new pump station in the same location on Route 7. The existing Route 7 Wastewater Treatment Facility will be decommissioned and demolished. The work is anticipated to occur from April 2022 through August 2023.

UPCOMING CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITY WEEK ENDING 8/19/22 (SUBJECT TO CHANGE)

Begin force main installation and continue milling existing pavement along Limekiln Road. Limekiln Road between Lee Road and Linden Road will be closed during construction hours per the detour plan with traffic management by the Ridgefield Police Department (RPD). Typical construction hours will be between 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Continue survey layout along Limekiln Road and Haviland Road.

PROPOSED CONSTRUCTION SCHEDULE WEEK ENDING 8/26/22 (SUBJECT TO CHANGE)

Continue force main installation along Limekiln Road between Lee Road and Linden Road. Limekiln Road will be closed between Lee Road and Linden Road during construction hours per the detour plan with traffic management by RPD. Typical construction hours will be between 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Begin force main installation along Limekiln Road between Linden Road and Nursery Road. Limekiln Road between Linden Road and Nursery Road will be closed during construction hours per the detour plan with traffic management by RPD. Typical construction hours will be between 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Continue survey layout along Limekiln Road and Haviland Road.

The WPCA will be posting weekly construction updates on the Town’s website for residents and businesses to view at www.ridgefieldct.org/water-pollution-control-authority-wpca.

ANTICIPATED IMPACTS TO RESIDENTS AND BUSINESSES DURING CONSTRUCTION

Minor traffic delays in the areas of work

Detours around the areas of work on Limekiln Road

Some areas with unfinished road conditions (steel plates and/or unpaved sections of road)

Construction equipment will be mobilizing daily in the Limekiln Road, Lee Road, and Farmingville Road areas
