Ridgefield Historical Society seeks volunteers, board members

The Ridgefield Historical Society has seen renewed activity and enthusiasm among residents in the past year as the Covid-19 pandemic has eased and the town recently celebrated a spectacular Battle of Ridgefield reenactment weekend.

The Society is now seeking new board members and volunteers who want to engage with the community and join us as we continue to be a steward of Ridgefield’s magnificent history, right up to present times.

Among the committees we are looking to augment are Finance, Programming, Fundraising, and Architectural Archives. The Ridgefield Historical Society has much to share, and we are looking for fresh minds to join us for the next leg, to learn about the history and heritage of our town and preserve our future.

The Society is well into its 20th anniversary year and with an energetic board and gracious volunteers, the organization has come a long way in a short time. Enthusiastic about the outcome of the recently completed two-year National Park Service grant for new research on The Battle of Ridgefield, and just receiving state grants for a townwide Historic Resources Survey, the organization continues to embark on new grant opportunities and prepare new program offerings. Our board consists of a broad coalition of professionals who each bring expertise and passion to different aspects of the Society’s activities.

If you, or someone you know is seeking a way to give back to this great town, please reach out to The Ridgefield Historical Society at 203-438-5821 or info@ridgefieldhistoricalsociety.org.
