The brightest stars bring the greatest show to Ridgefield and remind us we matter, we are enough

Those who were fortunate enough to attend SPHERE’s production of The Greatest Showman yesterday felt something remarkable. The love was palpable.

Whatever you do, do it with all your might.

- P.T. Barnum

In front of a sold-out crowd at The Ridgefield Playhouse stage on Sunday afternoon, we witnessed MIGHT in all its glory.

For the past year, SPHERE actors rehearsed under the tutelage of the production Director Emily Pambianchi, President and Chairman of the Board, Lori Berisford, and passionate volunteers including Patti Ross, to adapt the 2017 smash hit film The Greatest Showman into a one-of-a-kind musical.

I am who I'm meant to be, this is me
Look out 'cause here I come
And I'm marching on to the beat I drum
I'm not scared to be seen
I make no apologies, this is me.

- Keala Settle and The Greatest Showman Ensemble

Berisford says it best, "The Greatest Showman delivers an inspiring message, one which resonates deeply with our SPHERE members and our mission: embrace your individuality, your uniqueness – be proud of who you are.  We thought that this message was perfect for SPHERE!"

Watching this powerful message unfold on stage was one of life’s greatest gifts. Beautifully choreographed by Ridgefield Conservatory of Dance Executive Director, Amy Piantaggini, the importance of community resonated as we watched RCD joyfully in step with SPHERE members.

Based on the story and life of Bethel, CT native P.T. Barnum, played by the uber-talented and charismatic Zachary Sorena, The Greatest Showman chronicles the journey of an entertainer with tremendous resolve, who, when met with misfortune, creates something extraordinary.  Barnum’s star attractions are those who beat to their own drum and create the most beautiful music in the world.

No one ever made a difference by being like everyone else.
- P.T. Barnum

Thank you Ridgefield’s brightest stars and to SPHERE’s many heroic volunteers for bringing the greatest show to Ridgefield.

SPHERE enables its members to participate in and enjoy a dimension of life that is often missing for people with developmental, cognitive and intellectual disabilities. SPHERE's many programs provide a safe venue for social interaction and development, skill-building, and cultural opportunities through the arts. What's more, SPHERE connects its members to the community in an important and intimate way by partnering with our Town's many nonprofits including the RSO and the Ridgefield Conservatory of Dance who will join SPHERE on stage.
