Route 7 Pump Station construction update: Ligi’s Way will be closed during the paving

ROUTE 7 PUMP STATION, FORCE MAIN, AND WWTF DECOMMISSIONING PROJECT

The Water Pollution Control Authority’s Wastewater Facilities Upgrade project includes construction of approximately 13,600 linear feet of new 8-inch diameter underground force main piping from the Route 7 Pump Station to the South Street Wastewater Treatment Facility. The existing Route 7 Pump Station will be demolished and replaced with a new pump station in the same location on Route 7. The existing Route 7 Wastewater Treatment Facility will be decommissioned and demolished. The work is anticipated to occur from April 2022 through August 2023.

UPCOMING CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITY WEEK ENDING 11/18/22 (SUBJECT TO CHANGE)

Continue force main installation along Farmingville Road between Lee Road and Ligi’s Way. Work will take place in the westbound lane with one lane open to alternating traffic. Traffic management will be provided by the Ridgefield Police Department (RPD) and/or flaggers. Typical construction hours will be between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

As work approaches Ligi’s Way, begin force main installation in areas designated for night work along Farmingville Road. Typical construction hours will be between 3:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. Traffic management will be provided by RPD and/or flaggers with one lane open to alternating traffic.

Perform trench pavement repair along Farmingville Road. Pavement repair is scheduled to take place during typical dayshift construction hours between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

PROPOSED CONSTRUCTION SCHEDULE WEEK ENDING 11/25/22 (SUBJECT TO CHANGE)

Continue force main installation along Farmingville Road in areas designated for night work between Lee Road and Ligi’s Way. Work will take place in the westbound lane with one lane open to alternating traffic. Traffic management will be provided by RPD and/or flaggers. Typical construction hours will be between 3:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m.

Perform trench pavement repair along Farmingville Road. Pavement repair is scheduled to take place during typical dayshift construction hours between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

Pavement repair is tentatively scheduled along the southbound lane of Ligi’s Way (weather permitting). Ligi’s Way will be closed during the paving operation per the detour plan with traffic management by RPD and/or flaggers. Typical paving hours will be 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

There will be no construction on the Thanksgiving holiday or the day after Thanksgiving.

GENERAL

The WPCA will be posting weekly construction updates on the Town’s website for residents and businesses to view at www.ridgefieldct.org/water-pollution-control-authority-wpca.

Coordination between the Ridgefield Public School Department, the Ridgefield Police Detail Officers and the Contractor will continue with school in session to coordinate school bussing and child pickups and drop offs through construction areas.
