Why Nonprofits Matter: Ridgefield Independent Film Festival

Why Ridgefield Nonprofits Matter

You're IT Ridgefield Independent Film Festival!

Four questions with Joanne Hudson, Founder/Director of Ridgefield Independent Film Festival.

Why did you start RIFF?

I started Ridgefield Independent Film Festival (RIFF) to encourage the town of Ridgefield to collaborate on creating a premiere boutique film festival in our area and to help make the world a more compassionate place through the sharing of stories through cinema.

What is your best-selling product/service?

We showcase independent films from around the world, and the corner, at our annual 4-day film festival in various locations in and around Ridgefield CT.

How many local businesses and nonprofits do you use to support your business (products and services) and can you name them?

Many- this year we have six participating venues to include: The Ridgefield Playhouse, Prospector Theater, Ridgefield Theater Barn, Ridgefield Library, Keeler Tavern Museum, and History Center, and The Lounsbury House; and several local sponsors including Squashes Office Supply, Nod Hill Brewery, Luc’s Cafe, Chez Lenard, West Lane Inn, The Fountain Inn and Hotel Zero.

We are seeking more food and beverage sponsors as well as travel sponsors. Please contact joanne@riffct.org to become a festival sponsor.

Have you "reimagined" RIFF since its founding?

Every RIFF is different but it has been especially different creating this festival throughout the pandemic. This year will be our first full-scale return to a town-wide in-person festival since 2020 caused us to go online.
