On Thursdays through Sundays in April, from 10 am to 4 pm, Weir Farm National Historic Site is hosting Take Part in Art.
Visitors have the opportunity to experience first-hand the fun of "en plein" air painting and sketching while becoming a part of a unique and enduring artistic tradition. Art supplies: graphite pencils, colored pencils and chalk pastels, are loaned out by the National Park Service allowing each visitor to capture a view of the farm which they are invited to keep.
Bring your friends and family and discover what Julian Alden Weir described as "that wonderful something that the landscape in nature suggests...."
Visitors can also enjoy walking, hiking, bird watching, photography, and much more. Maps and brochures are available on the porch of the Visitor Center.
Be creative, be inspired, and Take Part in Art at Weir Farm National Historic Site!
