Portfolio Prep for Students at The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum

The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum is offering its annual opportunities for local high school students to get professional input into the art school admissions process.

Portfolio Days is a series of events is designed to provide support, guidance, and resources to young artists preparing to apply to art school or considering applying: the Portfolio Talk, Portfolio Review Day, and a by-appointment-only open studio for students to document their work using the Museum's lights, camera, and white walls.

At the Portfolio Talk, from 5:30 to 7 pm on Thursday, October 10, high school students are invited to hear a top art school admissions director share tips and suggestions on how to polish up portfolios. Learn what to do and what not to do, and get answers to important questions.

On Monday, October 21, from 3 to 7 pm, students are invited to bring their work to Portfolio Review Day, where admissions representatives from some of the top art schools, colleges, and universities in the United States will review their portfolios. This event offers a chance to investigate potential schools, gain a better understanding of what schools are looking for, and get started on the admissions process without a drive to Rhode Island or New York!

Portfolio Days events are free of charge; parents and teachers are welcome to attend. For more information, questions about art school, or to book a studio session, contact Gina Furnari at gfurnari@aldrichart.org. The Aldrich is located at 258 Main Street, Ridgefield, CT 06877.
