Home Invasion Personal Defense Class

The next "Personal Protection In The Home Program," a course to prepare against home invasion, will be held Sunday, December 15, 2013, in New Milford, Connecticut.

Taught by, Herb Furhman, a well-known CT Police Academy POST firearms and tactical weapons
instructor, this advanced full day course is dedicated to the safe and efficient use of firearms for self-protection and family, and will provide information on the law-abiding individual's right to self-defense from a home invasion or other violent attack. Many people from Connecticut and New York have taken this class from Mr. Furhman over the years.

A review of federal and the new 2013 CT and NY state laws and the aftermath of an intruder shooting will be presented by Attorney Dan Readyoff, a civil and criminal attorney. Attorney Readyoff will discuss issues including the
legalities of using justified deadly force and the process of police investigations and the court system. Important
elements such as ability, opportunity and jeopardy in deadly force encounters
will be reviewed.

Also in the course, students will learn proper defensive shooting skills and be tested
on those skills using actual scenarios and laser fire simulations. Students will learn strategies for home
safety and responding to a violent confrontation, how to choose a handgun and
shotgun for self-defense, and continued opportunities for skill development.

All safety equipment including training shotguns and handguns will be provided.

Pre-registration is required. For further information call Herb Furhman at 203-947-4327 or go to
