Gina Wilson organizes Chamber Music Concert in Ridgefield, to benefit KEYS

The Chamber Music concert on Sunday, March 15 at 4 pm in Ridgefield may look like an ordinary gathering of piano, violin, viola and cello performers.  But to its organizer, Gina Wilson of Ridgefield, CT, it will be an amazing afternoon of music, bringing her past and current musical worlds together.

Gina Wilson has had a career focused on music.  She was a co-founder of the Western Connecticut Youth Orchestra, former Executive Director of the Ridgefield Symphony Orchestra, is the current accompanist for The Ridgefield Chorale, and since 2014, has served on the Board of Directors of KEYS (Kids Empowered by Your Support), a Bridgeport-based non-profit organization that brings free music instruction to kids in Bridgeport who would otherwise not have access to this life-changing experience.

On Sunday, March 15 in a private home in Ridgefield, Gina’s past and current musical worlds will come together for a unique and unforgettable experience.  Gina, an accomplished pianist, will be joined by two strings players who are current members of the RSO and teachers in the KEYS music program, Corinne Metter on viola and Amy Selig on violin.  Rounding out the quartet on cello is Madeleine Bouissou, an alumnus of the Western Connecticut Youth Orchestra, currently enrolled at the Juilliard School.  Students from the KEYS music programs will also perform.  Members of The Ridgefield Chorale are hosting and planning the event.

Especially during the month of March which is “Music in Our Schools” month, this concert highlights the importance of music education for all, and reinforces the mission of KEYS to bring music instrument instruction to under-served kids in Bridgeport, CT.  Proceeds from the concert will benefit the KEYS music programs.

Those interested in attending the concert should contact Laurie Bradbury, Assistant Executive Director of KEYS, at aed@keysmusic.org, or 203-818-9849.  While there is no charge for the concert itself, we hope that you will consider a donation to KEYS at the event, to support the KEYS music programs in Bridgeport, CT. The concert is being held in a private home and seating is limited, so reservations are required.  For more information about KEYS, please visit our website at www.keysmusic.org .
